Job Description
Summary
This is a posting for a position within the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology under principal investigator Eileen Carpenter. We are a new lab investigating the pathogenesis of pancreatic cancer and mechanisms of progression utilizing an all-human pipeline of patient-derived organoid culture and immune cells. Particular areas of interest are investigating pre-neoplastic lesions and mechanisms of chemoresistance.

Responsibilities*
Technician will be in charge of establishing and maintaining human pancreatic cancer organoid lines and performing necessary experiments including, but not limited to, organoid/immune cell/fibroblast co-culture, cytotoxic cell assays with chemotherapeutic drugs, flow cytometric and mass cytometric analysis, and will engage in some facets of single cell sequencing processing and analysis.
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelors in biology, engineering or biochemical sciences preferred. Senior undergraduate students will also be considered.
- Experience preferred but not required.
- Training in sterile technique and tissue culture will be provided.
- Opportunities to learn bioinformatics techniques including spatial transcriptomics and single cell sequencing will be available.
Desired Qualifications*
- A 2 year commitment is preferred.
Work Schedule
1. Work will be on-site. Must be able to work generally during the hours of 9-5 Monday through Friday.
Background Screening
